Tropical North Queensland

Tropical North Queensland is where the rainforest meets the reef. It is one of the most naturally diverse places in the world. Highlights include two World Heritage sites, the largest reef system in the world and the famous ancient rainforest.

Tropical North Queensland is the northern part of Queensland, the region includes Cairns, Palm Cove and the beaches, Port Douglas and Daintree, Kuranda and the Atherton Tablelands, Mission Beach and the Cassowary Coast, Cape York and the Gulf Savannah. Just offshore from Cardwell in the south to Cooktown in the north is the Wet Tropics World Heritage area. It is also home to Australia’s largest island national park, Queensland’s highest mountain and many ancient crater lakes.
